Bitcoin is recovering after falling to a 6-month low of $6,575 yesterday. In the past 24 hours, bitcoin has retaken the $7,000 mark and is currently trading at $7,157 (6.2%). The majority of the leading cryptoassets are up 5-10% today, except Binance Coin (BNB) and Tron (TRX).

At the time of writing, bitcoin (BTC) is trading at $7,157 (6.2%) with a daily Top Tier volume of $2.44 bn. As for ether (ETH), it is trading at $146.43 (-7.71%) with a daily Top Tier volume of $444.63 mn. The MVIS CryptoCompare Digital Assets 10 Index is currently tracking at 2,455.22 (-0.92%).

MVIS and CryptoCompare Launch the MVIS CryptoCompare Institutional Bitcoin Index

MV Index Solutions (MVIS) in partnership with CryptoCompare, yesterday announced the launch of the MVIS CryptoCompare Institutional Bitcoin Index (ticker: MVIBTC), an index designed to measure the performance of a digital assets portfolio which invests in Bitcoin, priced on select exchanges.

The MVIS CryptoCompare Institutional Bitcoin Index is a robust and transparent benchmark for Bitcoin, which will be used by Canadian investment fund manager, 3iQ Corp., for the purpose of NAV calculation of The Bitcoin Fund.

Ripple Invests $20mn in MoneyGram to Complete $50mn Commitment

MoneyGram recently confirmed it has received $20 million from Ripple, a leading payments and blockchain service provider. This brings Ripple's total commitment to MoneyGram up to $50 million, Ripple invested $30 million in June.

Ripple bought newly issued equity at $4.10 per share, which is well above the current share price of $3. Alex Holmes, MoneyGram Chairman and CEO said "Our partnership with Ripple is transformative for both the traditional money transfer and digital asset industry - for the first time ever, we're settling currencies in seconds.”

Ontology Partners With Chainlink to Allow Externally Connected Smart Contracts

On Monday (November 25), Ontology announced a collaboration with Chainlink in order to allow externally connected smart contracts on the Ontology platform.

Ontology is a China-based open source blockchain project. However, rather than being just a general-purpose smart contracts platform, Ontology focuses on the concept of digital identity (e.g. medical records, intellectual property). As for Chainlink, it is a decentralized oracle network that makes it possible for smart contracts (theoretically, on any blockchain) to connect to "real world data, events and payments."

The Ontology team says that this partnership with Chainlink "provides a new option to the Ontology ecosystem with regards to creating externally connected smart contracts, which has massive benefits for our ecosystem developers."
