In a now-deleted Twitter post, some unknown email addresses and their passwords were exposed. In light of the leak, cryptocurrency exchange Poloniex is asking users who may have been affected by the leak to reset their passwords for their security.

DLive, a cryptocurrency-powered livestreaming platform that this year signed an exclusive deal with YouTube star PewDiePie, is joining the BitTorrent ecosystem and as part of the move, it will migrate to the TRON blockchain and start rewarding content creators with BTT tokens.

The IOTA Foundation has now fixed an issue that saw its mainnet fail to process transactions for over 15 hours. The issue, it noted, had nothing to do with its special Coordinator node.

Poloniex Asks Users to Change Passwords Over Confirmed Data Leak

Cryptocurrency exchange Poloniex has started asking its users to change their passwords after confirming a data leak occurred on microblogging platform Twitter. This saw it force reset the passwords of users whose emails were included in the leak.

In the email, shared on social media by some users, Poloniex wrote:

“While almost all of the [leaked] email addresses listed do not belong to Poloniex accounts, we are forcing a password reset on any email addresses that do have an account with us, including yours.”

On its Twitter account, Poloniex both confirmed the leak and the authenticity of the emails being sent out, making it clear it “promptly sent emails out to all affected users, requiring them to change their password.”

It’s currently unclear where the leaked data came from, and at press time the post with them has been taken down from the microblogging platform.

Crypto-Powered Livestreaming Platform DLive to Join BitTorrent Ecosystem, Migrate to TRON

The cryptocurrency-powered livestreaming platform DLive is joining the BitTorrent ecosystem, and will be migrating to the TRON (TRX) blockchain. In its announcement, BitTorrent revealed both BitTorrent and DLive will be “working together to bring blockchain-based peer-to-peer content sharing, including live streaming, to everyone.”

The move will see DLive advertise its services to BitTorrent’s 100 million monthly active users, and will merge with BLive, the live streaming platform BitTorrent introduced earlier this year. DLive is currently on the Lino blockchain, but will be migrating as BitTorrent has also been acquired by TRON.

DLive, which earlier this year saw YouTube star PewDiePie sign a deal to exclusively livestream on its platform, currently rewards creators in LINO, but will be integrating BitTorrent’s BTT token into its platform and start rewarding them with it. DLive’s CEO Charles Wayn was quoted as saying:

"We are ecstatic to have the opportunity to be part of the BitTorrent ecosystem. I've watched them pioneer the digital peer-to-peer space. DLive's goal of empowering creators and rewarding communities is one step closer with the amplification of this new venture."

To help integrate BTT into its platform, DLive “expects to offer various benefits and rewards to existing users to transition from the Lino blockchain onto the BitTorrent ecosystem.”

IOTA Fixes Network Bug That Led to 15-Hour Mainnet Downtime

The non-profit organization behind the IOTA network, the IOTA Foundation, has revealed it fixed an issue that saw its mainnet stop being able to process transactions for over 15 hours, has been fixed.

According to the IOTA Foundation, a “corrupt” ledger state was caused by an “edge case where IRI [IOTA Reference Implementation] didn't account for a transaction that was shared between two distinct bundles.”

IOTA’s co-founder, Dominik Schiener, noted in an email the issue originated with the “current primary mainnet node software” and wasn’t related to a special node operated by the Foundation, called the Coordinator. IOTA has now fixed the issue, and urged users who run an IRI node to update it to the newest version, available on its GitHub page.
