Bitcoin Price Breaks $970

The price of Bitcoin which has, for the last week, remained somewhat stable has now begun to recover even further, increasing 4.31% in the last 24h, currently sitting at $972. The sudden increase is believed to be connected with the geopolitical uncertainty brought about by Donald Trump's first week in office. The recent shift in the market volume averages caused by the halt in margin trading and zero-fees on Chinses exchanges has given the stage to USD, which is now the biggest player in Bitcoin trading volume, followed by JPY. Volumes are high in both markets, with over $61 Million worth of Bitcoin being exchanged in the last 24 hours.

Bitcoin Pool Loses 13.2 BTC. Here's why

The popular Bitcoin mining pool ran by bitcoin.com, has recently lost out on 13.2 BTC due to an invalid block being mined. The block was invalid due to its size, which was more than the allowed 1MB due to a bug in the Bitcoin Unlimited software, which the pool was running. The bug stemmed from a miscalculation of bytes. Andrew Stone, Bitcoin Unlimited developer explained:

"The bug was caused by a miscounting of the bytes in the coinbase. Basically the coinbase informational string was counted but the rest of the coinbase txn was not.  This happened because the coinbase txn is added separately after the normal transaction selection loop."

ChronoBank Attracts $3m Bitcoin and Partners With Changelly

Time-based cryptocurrency initiative ChronoBank has gathered $3 million in a crowdfund as it announced that is to integrate the Changelly instant exchange app within its main wallet software, the ChronoWallet. The development with Changelly comes as ChronoBank heads towards the final fortnight of their Initial Coin Offering (ICO), which since it kicked off this December had raised over $3 million.
